One Word for 2015

 In Uncategorized

Is there power in one word?

Does focusing on one word really help?

Do you pick one word for the year?

I haven’t always been the best at the this.

I don’t really believe in resolutions anymore, but I do like the idea of setting an intention for the year. If you’re not familiar with the concept, there are lots of posts talking about it. You can read about it on my friend Corie’s blog or listen to a great conversation about picking a word on Matt Ham’s podcast, Redefine Rich.

I wanted to be really intentional about my word this year, as I have been going through a big process of change and deprogramming and stripping off layers in so many areas of my life. I thought and prayed about this one for a while. My word actually came to me right away, but I wasn’t sure that should be it. So I sat on it for a while and just kept thinking about it and praying about it.

What’s my one word? See below.

HEALTHY

I’m sure you immediately think of exercise and losing weight. I do too when I hear the word. And for me, it is a big part of why I chose the word this year. I actually started 2014 by making huge changes in what I eat and how often I exercise. I started eating clean and eliminating most processed foods, wheat and sugar, and made some significant changes in what I put in my body.

I had great results and lost weight and maintained it throughout the year. I wanted to make this a lifestyle change, so I also gave myself some space to experiment and learn to make this a part of my daily life. I am even more committed to becoming healthier physically, so this will be a big focus again this year.

But, there are so many other areas that the word will impact this year.

Healthy decisions

Healthy marriage

Healthy parenting

Healthy emotions

Healthy relationships

Healthy boundaries

Healthy adventures

Healthy activist

My list could go on and on, but you get the point. 2015 is going to be about becoming healthier in so many areas of my life.  I am so thankful to my friend Libby who created the beautiful image of my word that I look at every day. You should check out her work in her Etsy store. It’s awesome!

I’d love to hear what your one word is. Comment below or Tweet at me!
