Empty Shelf Challenge Book #6
This is my sixth book for 2014, as a part of the Empty Shelf Challenge. You can read my first two posts here and here.
My sixth book was Run Home and Take a Bow by Ethan Bryan.
I met Ethan through an online group that we have been a part of for several months. He is full of passion and absolutely loves the game of baseball. I have to admit that I like baseball. I played softball for many years, and I do enjoy a major league game every once in a while. But, I’m not a huge fan. So, I wasn’t sure how I would like this book.
There were a lot of specifics on baseball, which I expected. And initially, I was letting that get in the way of the message of the book. But, I’m glad I kept reading. Because this book isn’t about baseball. It’s about learning how to apply principles and practices from the game of baseball to their life. It’s about a man and what he’s learned from this game that he loves so much.
We all learn through different ideas, and this book is a great example of how you can use something you love to write about learning to live a different story. I definitely suggest you check out this book. Ethan is a great writer, and I really enjoyed it.
