Celebrate what’s right in the world

I love this. I try to live like this. For much of my life, I focused on the opposite. Frustrated by what was wrong, feeling like I couldn’t make a difference. Feeling stuck.

But if you think about it, it’s much easier to celebrate what’s right.

The person who went out of their way to be nice to you.

The person who chose to show grace instead of judgment.

The person who is taking a step and making a difference in your neighborhood.

The person choosing to make art out of someone else’s trash.

How can you celebrate something that is right in the world today?

That reminds me of an exercise Darren Hardy talks about. He kept a journal of one thing each day he loved about his wife. The exercise made him look for those things daily, and I guess by extension – celebrate them.

I imagine this has the same effect. For me to actually make it a habit though I’d have to write it down or make some actual ritual around it.

So true. It’s similar to Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts. Remembering to be thankful for the little things.

I get told ALL the time “you are always looking on the bright side”. I feel that way because Good always tops evil, because God tops sin, and there is always something good in everything. Sometimes we have to dig to find it but it is there.
Being a minister I see/talk to people everyday who are at their wits end, I help them find that good thing in them.
So to answer the question, I think God everyday that His Love, Grace and Mercy tops all the evil in the world!!
