Home is Where Your Heart is

 In Uncategorized

What do you think of when you think of “home”?

Does your childhood home come to mind?

Is it being with family?

Your current house?

For most of my life, when I thought of home, I thought of my childhood home. It was where I grew up. Where I lived until my junior year of college. When my Mom sold that house, my heart hurt. There were so many memories from that house. We moved there when I was three. It was where I felt at home.

As time went on, home became my hometown. Even though my Mom lived in a different place, coming home from college or after moving away, I always loved the thought of going home.

Now that I’m older, I love coming home to my family. I travel for work, and while I love seeing other cities and new places, I also love coming home to my boys. It’s where my heart belongs.

That’s also why I am so excited for my friend Andi and her dream of God’s Whisper farm. She is building it. It is her home, but she wants it to be a place where others feel at home. Where they feel relaxed, calm, and disconnect from the distractions of the world.

Can’t you just visualize the farm from this picture?

A place where you can go to escape the craziness of life.

A place where differences are respected.

A place where you feel loved and valued.

A place of quiet, and space, and nature.

I am so excited to visit Andi’s farm. I dream of taking an outdoor yoga class, campfires, nature walks, and rest.

Andi is living her dream. But she needs our help. She needs us to help her spread the vision of God’s Whisper. To tell our friends about her manifesto. To help her celebrate and build this beautiful farm.

Tomorrow, I’ll give away two copies of Andi’s book, God’s Whisper Manifesto. Just leave a comment below to be entered to win.

I believe in her. I believe in her dream. And I would love it if you would help me spread the message. You can click on the picture above to purchase your own copy, and share it with others. Here’s a great quote you I love.

“The Earth is a gift to us, and we strive to honor it with our lives, our work, our words, and our rest,” @andilit #godswhisper. Tweet that!

What does home feel like to you? What would you want to do if you visited God’s Whisper?

I know and love a place in Western Ireland like this. It’s called Anam Cara Writers’ and Artists Retreat. If Andi’s farm is like that, I’d love to spend time there.

Tammy, home is an oasis in the desert of life. We have our house. We are working on our plans to make it our retreat center, where we can hide from the troubles of life.

To me “home” is more of a feeling than a specific location. It’s my parent’s house, my house, a good song, a good book, smells… It always surprises me where I feel “home.” Most recently it was my former roommate’s parent’s house where I had never been before.

So, in honor of helping Andi, I decided to give everyone a copy. If you already have one, let me know and you can gift it to a friend. Thanks for stopping by!
