I am having a blast with this series. Congratulations to yesterday’s winner, Elizabeth Johnson, who won Michael Hyatt’s book Platform!
I am excited to share my friend Heidi Kreider’s book, The Secret of Counting Gifts, on the blog today. I met Heidi through Michael Hyatt’s launch team. We clicked quickly and became friends. You may remember her from her guest post here.
Heidi had written her book not long before we met. I bought a copy and was hooked right away. I will forewarn you that if you have any emotions at all, you may not want to start reading it in a public place like I did. I started reading it in an airport and was crying in front of all of my fellow passengers. Part of that had to do with the fact that the book reminded me so much of my friend Jamie and other people I have loved who have battled illness.
But don’t let that scare you from reading the book. It is an absolutely beautiful story of friendship and love. It is extremely well written and I did not want to put it down. It is a great story that reminds us to treasure life and appreciate all of the gifts around us.
Heidi’s book will always have a special place in my heart. While I was reading it, I got inspired to start an upcoming project that will honor my friend Jamie and help continue to grant her last wish. You’ll be hearing more about that in the months to come.
You can check out Heidi’s Facebook page here or follow her on Twitter here.
Don’t forget to leave a comment to be entered to win a copy of Heidi’s book. You can also Tweet this.

i am thankful for my beautiful family they mean everything to me!!!! Thanks for sharing! I would love to read this book and i’ve written down the titles of all of these in the pic. can’t wait to get started!
You have a beautiful family!! I think you would really like this one.
So thankful for my 13 year daughter and the Godly women she is growing up to be. Love Heidi, love her blog, and would love to read her book.
Thanks for clicking over Kerry!
Thank you, my friend for including me in that line up. I’m humbled to be part of this fun week with you!
I’m having so much fun! Glad to include it.
I have read Heidi’s book too, and LOVE IT!!!! highly recommend it!!! thanks for including it!!
years of friendship make your endorsement mean all the more. Thank you!!!
I loved Heidi’s book. Was so easy to relate to all of the characters and feel like I was part of their family. Since I just read the manuscript while it was in the editing stage, I would LOVE to have a hard copy to actually put on my bookshelf!
How did I not know that you never got the finished product?!? hmmm…..
I don’t seem to make enough time to read for enjoyment and often have a difficult time finding a book that I want to pick up to finish. This sounds like a book that I could really get into and enjoy! Also thinking about getting a copy of this for my mom for Christmas!!
If you do get a copy for you or your mom, Lisa, I’d love to know what you think it… good, bad, or what I could do to improve the next book.
I think you will like it Lisa! It would make a great Christmas gift.
What a great reminder that we need to find the present moment gifts we are given and not focus on all the “don’t haves”. Thanks for sharing Tammy!
I agree, Laura. I spent too many years of my life wishing for things I didn’t have rather than being thankful for the things I do have!
It is a great reminder. I think you would like it, Laura!
mmm … I recently ‘met’ Heidi through ther 31 days adventure … would love to read more of her insights, her story …
It’s a great book, Linda. Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Linda! So nice to see you here too!
